Welcome to Rotary Club of Point West

Rotary International is the oldest service organization in the world.  The very first Rotary Club, the Rotary Club of Chicago, was formed by an attorney named Paul Harris and a few friends.  In the over 100 years since its inception, this organization has grown to over 32,000 clubs, comprised of 1.2 million members representing over 200 countries.  The 32,000 clubs are part of Rotary International, while members are part of the individual clubs.  The every day service projects and good works are accomplished by the members of these individual clubs.

The Rotary Club of Point West Rotary – Sacramento is known for its energy, fellowship and commitment to the community.  The motto of Rotary International is “service above self”.  Point West Rotary adheres to this motto, but unofficially includes in this statement, “while having fun”.  The 160 members of Point West Rotary have participated in tutoring and mentoring programs for some of the lowest performing schools, participated in “Rebuilding Together” to restore a home, donated thousands of dollars to the Assistance League to provide clothing and school supplies for needy children, awarded scholarships, assisted the Salvation Army in distributing food to the needy and even partnered with a Rotary Club in Sweetwater, Africa on a project which enabled women in Sweetwater to become self sufficient.  These are just a few of the worthy projects supported through our two major fundraising events, the Brewfest and the Festa de Vino.

Point West Rotary meets every Friday, 7:00 a.m., at the Red Lion – Sacramento Inn, which is located at 1401 Arden Way.   Point West Rotary meetings are known to be fun and entertaining - a great way to end the week.   I invite you to join us for fellowship and humor.
